Lagos State Government has sealed up 10 schools for violating the state’s lock down order following the covid19 pandemic.
The schools were caught violating government orders that all schools must remain closed to avoid massive spread of the coronavirus.
A monitoring team carried out an intensive monitoring of all private school premises across the state. The team was lead by the Director General, Office of Education Quality Assurance, Monitoring and Investigation, Mrs Abiola Seriki-Ayeni
The 10 Lagos schools sealed held classes with no regard to social distancing and in violation of the Federal and State Government order on school activities at this time of #COVID19 pandemic.
According to Seriki-Ayeni, the academic institutions held classes for students and were therefore sealed up.
In her words:
“No doubt, covid19 has had a negative effect on our schools bu we want students to come out stronger and better. We want to make sure schools are closed. We also want to make sure schools are adhering to the closure directive since the number of covid19 infections has increased dramatically over time. On the field.”
Lagos State has constantly led the chart in coronavirus infections since the index case was reported in February 2020.
The most deaths have also occurred in the state.
