15th May Covid19 Report, Nigeria, Lagos, Worldwide

288 new cases of covid19 were reported on 15th May, 2020 across 15 states of Nigeria. The new confirmed cases bring the total number of confirmed cases since the viral disease breakout to 5,445.

Breakdown of new confirmed cases:

  2. Kaduna: 20
  3. Katsina: 15
  4. Jigawa: 15
  5. Borno: 13
  6. Ogun: 11
  7. Kano: 7
  8. FCT: 4
  9. Niger: 4
  10. Ekiti: 4
  11. Oyo: 3
  12. Delta: 3
  13. Bauchi: 3
  14. Kwara: 2
  15. Edo: 1
Highlights of total cases as at 15th May, 2020:
  1. Total cases tested: 31,702
  2. Confirmed: 5,545
  3. Active, 3,954
  4. Discharged: 1,320
  5. Deaths: 171

There appears to be a strain on the financial resources of the Ministry of External Affairs as it has demanded that evacuees from abroad fund their isolation on arrival in Nigeria.

Letters have begun circulating Nigerian foreign missions advising that the precondition for evacuation to Nigeria is an advance payment of a total sum of N297,600. The amount which covers accommodation and feeding back in Nigeria is expected to be paid in full before airlift.

EFCC hands over Diezani’s forfeited Property to LASG

The EFCC today handed over a property considered as part of proceeds of corruption to the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

The property located at 135 Awolowo Road Ikoyi was forfeited by the former Petroleum Minister, Diezani, Alison-Madueke. It was acquired when she was in office but forfeited after it was investigated.

It will serve as an isolation centre for the treatment of #COVID19 patients.
