16th April #COVID19 update as at 10:20pm sees a fast rising spread of the killer disease.

Indeed the largest infection within a single day was reported with 35 new cases. This is also an indication that more infections are coming from the community level.

Total confirmed infections nationwide is now 442.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu-Olu

Despite the high rate of community spread in Lagos, the governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu-Olu has some cheering news for residents.

His latest state address:

“Dear Lagosians,

“Today, 5 more patients; 5 females and 2 males have been discharged from the mainland Infectious Diseases Hospital to reunite with the society.

“The were discharged having fully recovered and tested negative twice consecutively to covid-19. This brings to 90, the number of patients successfully managed and discharged from our isolation facilities.

“I appeal to residents to stay at home, practice social distancing and observe the highest hygiene personal and hand hygiene possible.”
