1st May covid19 figures has an alarming 238 new cases of covid19 bringing the total number of confirmed cases since the breakout of the disease in Nigeria to 2,170.

Kano is now leading with 90 new cases while Lagos is pushed down to number 3.

The governor said it will cater to the increasing number of cases and help slow the spread of the disease.

Babajide Sanwo-Olu also announced the discharge of 26 more covid19 patients comprising 14 mails and 12 females. 

This brings the total number of people successfully managed to 225.

According to the governor, “improved testing and contact tracing has led to more cases, which makes it even more important to follow all medical guidelines and precautions for avoiding transmission of the virus.”

Worldwide covid19 figures as of 2nd May 2020, 2:55 am:
  1. Total infections since breakout of the disease: 3,400,674
  2. Deaths: 239,586
  3. Recovered: 1,081590
  4. Active cases: 2,079,498
  5. Closed cases (cases which had an outcome): 1,321,176
    • Recovered and discharged: 1,081,590 (82%)
    • Deaths: 239,586 (18%)
