No less than 2 All Progressive Congress (APC) chieftains d!ed on the day the party campaign flag-off day in Jos, the Plateau State Capital.
Hon. Abd-Sobur Olayiwola Olawale representing Mushin Constituency 2 in the Lagos State House of Assembly slumped on the campaign grounds and d!ed moments later.
Hon Olawale was known as Omititi in the Lagos political circles.
The 2nd d3ath is Chief Juliana Dupeola Awodogan, popularly known as ‘Iya Oniyan.’
Iya Oniyan who is said to be in her 70s d!ed at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), on Tuesday, the same day the APC held its campaign flag-off in Jos.
Her tragic demise is said to have happened before that of Omititi.
She was reportedly battling undisclosed ailment before her d3ath according to her son, Onarebu Niyi Awodogan who announced the sad news.
Reports say she had gone to the hospital after her condition became critical and she died at LUTH.
Her remains have been deposited at the morgue.
Her son is the Supervisory Councillor of Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Mushin.
The late Oniyan controlled a women group that normally drums campaign for the APC during election periods. They are said to mobilise the grassroot with dance and blitzes.
Chief Awodogan was given the nickname ‘Oniyan’ because she was a pounded yam merchant and used to supply the state house Lagos with pounded yam during the administration of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
