2023 Election: INEC Concludes Results for 14 States, Resumes Tuesday

The election collation centre headed by the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mahmood Yakubu has received presidential results from 14 states so far.

He confirmed this on Monday evening after announcing that the collation of results will continue today (Tuesday) by 11:00 am.

The INEC Chairman on Sunday received the results of Ekiti State, while on Monday he received results of Kwara, Osun, Ondo, Ogun, Oyo, Yobe, Enugu, Lagos, Gombe, Jigawa, Adamawa, Katsina and Nasarawa states.

He, however, ended collation on Monday following the absence of the state collations officer, adding that more states results would have arrived when collation resumed by 11 am.

So far, the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu has won in 6 states; Jigawa, Oyo, Ogun, Ondo, Kwara, and Ekiti states.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Atiku Abubakar, is leading in 5 states; Katsina, Adamawa, Gombe, Yobe and Osun.

While the candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, has won in 3: Nasarawa, Lagos and Enugu.

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, has not won any of the states presented to the INEC Chairman as of Tuesday.

Results of some other states have been announced by the INEC officials in the states but have yet to be presented to Yakubu in Abuja.

INEC Chairman, Yakubu also promised to address the issue of uploading results on the portal of the electoral body today.

Less than 60 per cent of the result sheets across Nigeria had been uploaded as of Monday evening.
