By 21st May 2020, Nigeria’s covid19 confirmed infections hit 7,016. This is with the addition of 339 new cases across 18 states.

- Ondo: 2
- Rivers: 1
- Adamawa: 1

Testing and discharge criteria:
The Director General of the NCDC has announced that it will henceforth change its “discharge criteria from 2 negative tests of 24-48 hours apart to a single negative test.
According to him, “It was a pragmatic decision because of pressure on isolation facilities. Also, most of our initial negative tests have been followed by 2nd negative tests.”
The Presidential Task Force on Covid19 ( #PTFCOVID19) also announced that it will repurpose unused Tuberculosis testing machines for covid19 testing. . The PTF adds that it is adopting this as a strategy to decentralise testing.
