22nd May covid19 report shows an additional 245 confirmed new cases across 22 states of the federation. This brings the total number of cases since coronavirus outbreak to 7,261.

Breakdown of confirmed new cases by states:

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is set to offer incentives to businesses that employ large numbers of people. This is with a view to avoiding job losses.

Sanwo-Olu gave the information during a webinar organised by the FSDH where he also gave insights into how Lagos State has been able to curb the pandemic. He advised the state plans to gradually reopen the economy.

 

To qualify for the incentives, the relevant businesses are to follow the Register to Reopen guidelines and ensure that workplace protocols are in place.

Speaking further, Sanwo-Olu said that “we are at a stage where we have to balance public health safety and the economy that affects the well-being of our people.”

  2. Deaths: 339,992
  3. Recovered: 2,158,510
  4. Active cases: 2,804,891
  5. Closed cases (cases which had an outcome): 2,498,502
