On the 23rd June, an additional 452 confirmed new cases of covid19 were recorded across 14 states of the country. This brings the total number of cases to 21,371.
Confirmed new cases continue to rise with increased testing activities coupled with active community spread of the disease.
It also appears that Oyo will continue to maintain the second position noticed on the 22nd in view of its close proximity to Lagos State. Ogun State is also climbing for the same reason.

Lagos State covid19 update as of 223rd June:
Former Senator Bayo Osinowo also known as “Pepperinto” was laid to rest last week. He died following complications from covid19.
However, a plenary session was held yesterday, 23rd June by the Lagos State House of Assembly in his honour. In attendance was the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Osinowo served as member of the State House of Assembly for 16 years.
The governor in extolling the late Senator said that, “his level of dedication to good governance and the development of Lagos State was unique.
“He led a fulfilled life and had an outstanding engagement on the political trajectory of this country.
“We will never forget his service to the state.”
Oyo State covid19 update for 23rd June:
Oyo State has shifted the resumption date of schools to the 29th July. 6th July is scheduled for students in the critical final year classes of primary 6, JSS 3 and SS3.
The decision was taken after the state’s Task Force on covid19 evaluated the compliance of the schools to safety guidelines. It was decided thereafter that the schools needed an extra week to test-run all facilities put in place for the safe return of students.
