The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has imposed a 24-hour curfew in the state.
This follows escalating tensions in some parts of the state by hoodlums and thugs operating under the guise of the #EndSARS protests.
Sanwo-Olu has openly identified with the quest of the the real #EndSARS protesters.
He has paid visits to some victims of police brutality and extra-judicial killings. He has personally attended some of the rallies in spite of protesters’ apathy and suspicion about his position and real intentions.
The Governor has also visited President Muhammadu Buhari to brief him on happenings in the state and relay the exact message of the protesters.
In addition to the mentioned initiatives, the governor has set up a panel of inquiry to investigate all reported cases of SARS brutality.
He has also set aside a N200 million compensation for all victims of SARS brutality while promising that erring police officers will be prosecuted.
President Muhammadu issued a directive yesterday, 19th of October that no protester must be molested as it is within the rights of Nigerians to protest peacefully.

The 24-hour curfew imposed on the state is billed to commence by 4:00pm today, 20th of October.
The only people allowed on the streets during the curfew are those on “essential service providers and first responders.”

One police station in Orile Iganmu has been burn down by hoodlums. Gunshots were heard just before the incident.
Reports also have it that one person was gunned down and other injured in the pandemonium.
#EndSARS agitators are suspicious of the arson unleashed on police stations. They also envisage a sponsored jail break just to force the youths to put an end to the #EndSARS protests.
Yesterday, Governor Godwin Obaseki also imposed a 24-hour curfew in Edo State following escalating tensions.
A footage shows some thugs being picked up in a high-end SUV. The location is yet to be ascertained but the youths suspect mould-play:
