24th July Covid19 Report: Nationwide, Worldwide

Coronavirus Pandemic

Nigeria’s covid19 report had 39,539 confirmed cases as at the 24th of July, 2020. The new total comes with the addition of 591 new cases reported from 17 states.

Oyo State has suddenly overtaken Lagos State as one with the highest number of confirmed cases in one day. Lagos State, the undisputed epicentre of the pandemic in Nigeria posted 168 confirmed new cases on the 24th of July.

Total number of successfully managed and discharged patients since the break out of the disease in Nigeria is 16,559 while 845 deaths have so far been recorded.

A total of 22,135 patients are still suffering from the deadly disease.

 

Breakdown of Nigeria’s confirmed new cases reported on the 24th of June:
  1. Oyo: 191
  2. Lagos: 168
  3. FCT: 61
  4. Ondo: 29
  5. Osun: 26
  6. Ebonyi: 24
  7. Edo: 23
  8. Ogun: 14
  9. Rivers: 13
  10. Akwa Ibom: 12
  11. Kaduna: 10
  12. Katsina: 6
  13. Borno: 4
  14. Ekiti: 3
  15. Delta: 3
  16. Imo: 3
  17. Niger: 1

Deaths that occurred on 24th July:

A total of 12 death were recorded on the 24th of July alone. The number was totalled up from 7 states comprising:

  1. Oyo: 4
  2. Ebonyi: 2
  3. Akwa Ibom: 2
  4. FCT: 1
  5. Rivers: 1
  6. Delta: 1
  7. Kwara: 1

 

Worldwide covid19 report as at 25th July, 2:50am:
  1. Total cases: 15,939,175
  2. Deaths: 642,622
  3. Recovered and discharged:
  4. Currently active: 5,573,188
  5. Closed cases (cases which had an outcome): 10,365,987
    • Recovered and discharged: 9,723,365 (94%)
    • Deaths: 642,622 (6%)
