Coronavirus Pandemic

As at 25th May 2020, there were 229 new cases of covid19 across 15 states. This brings to 8,068 the total number of confirmed cases of the disease since the pandemic surfaced in Nigeria.

  4. Kano: 23
  5. FCT: 14
  6. Plateau: 12
  7. Ogun: 9
  8. Delta: 7
  9. Borno: 5
  10. Rivers: 5

  13. Osun: 2
  14. Anambra: 1
  15. Bayelsa: 1

  4. Recovered and discharged: 2,311
  5. Deaths: 233

Lagos State 25th May covid19 update:

Prof Akin Abayomi

The Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof Akin Ababyo has predicted an explosion in the number of covid19 infections by July. This is going by the exponential increase in new cases as at date.

He gave the information through his twitter handle.

According to him:

“Just a month ago, on April 7, we saw 10 cases per day. Two weeks later, it was 32, then 70 cases.

“We are now seeing above 100 cases per day. This shows that our graph is moving in a gentle incline upwards.”

He explained further that the state may record as much as 120,000 cases by July while the entire country may see over 300,000.

 

Worldwide eport of #COVID19 as at 4:40am, 26th May:
  1. Total cases: 5,588,356
  2. Deaths: 347,873
  3. Recovered: 2,365,719
  4. Active cases: 2,874,764
  5. Closed cases (cases which had an outcome): 2,713,592
    • Recovered and discharged: 2,365,719 (87%)
    • Deaths: 347,873 (13%)
