26 of the abducted students of Bethel Secondary School, Kaduna have fled from their captors and returned home.
The Chairman, of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Rev John Hayab, on Monday confirmed the development and expressed hope that more of the abducted students will escape.
The spokesperson of the Kaduna State Police Command, ASP Mohammed Jilije added that 17 of the abducted students have been rescued.
He however said that the exact of students kidnapped by the bandits in the early hours of Monday is not yet known.
On his part, the security guard in the school, Daniel Muhuta narrated how he “escaped narrowly. They cam around 1:00am and started shooting. I was at the back of the school dormitory when I heard shooting and decided to pin down.”
Bethel Secondary School is located in Damish town, Chukun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
