The 3-year-old pupil Abayomi Michael, who was seen in a viral video being slapped repeatedly by his class teacher at an Ikorodu, Lagos Nursery School has brought smiles to his mother’s face.
A Lagos real estate company, Gidi Real Estate has given him scholarship up to the University level. The company also gave a two-bedroom apartment to his family and one million naira to take care of their immediate needs.
The firm said it took into consideration the fact that the mother is a widow and a cleaner in the same school where the assault took place before deciding to sponsor Michael’s education.
The management added that it hoped the gesture would spur little Michael to greater heights.
On Thursday, January 16 2025, the Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development and its Commissioner, Mobolaji Ogunlende, organized the ceremony where the Agreement between the real estate firm and the family was formalised.
