“30th and 31st July are Sallah Holidays,” Federal Government

The Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola has confirmed that the 30th and the 31st July are Sallah holidays to mark the 2020 Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Georgina Ehuriah said this in a statement issued today, 28th July.

Minister of Interior also congratulated Muslim faithful at home and abroad in the statement as they mark the Sallah holidays.

Part of the memo states that “he called on Muslims to continue to imbibe the spirit of love, peace, kindness and sacrifice as exemplified by the Holy Prophet Muhammed (Peace be upon Him) and also to use the period to pray for peace, unity, prosperity and stability of the country especially as the world is witnessing global health challenges caused by covid19 pandemic.”

Aregbesola sought the cooperation of Nigerians in the president’s quest to battle covid19. He advised citizens to actively participate in curbing the spread of #COVID by observing all laid down guidelines.

The Minister added that the government will not relent in fostering peaceful coexistence, national cohesion, and stability as it leads the country to realising its full potentials.

According to him, “in its avowed determination to build peaceful, harmonious and prosperous country, where the rights of every citizen are protected and guaranteed as enshrined in the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
