As of 31st March, 8:00pm, 4 new cases of covid-19 update have been reported in Nigeria. The country is doing fairly well compared to the devastation wrecked by the disease in western countries.
It is hoped that we continue to sustain the combat of the raging ailment. News monitored on 93.7fm this morning quotes the WHO as commending Nigeria’s handling of infections.
The Lagos State commissioner for Health, Prf Akin Abayomi says all the cases under its watch are closely monitored. According to him, the patients have not developed severe symptoms. He is optimistic that no death will be recorded.
Sadly, Abayomi says he does not know the whereabouts of the Chief of Staff to President Buhari, Mallam Abba Kyari.
Kyari had announced on on the 29th March that he was transferring to a private hospital in Lagos to avoid “to avoid further burdening the public health system which faces so many pressures.”

The 2 deaths did not occur mainly from covid-19 but as a result of complications arising from underlining illnesses.

New York Times repots White House as fearing a “grim toll from coronavirus.” American scientists project that the virus is likely to claim between 100,000 and 240,000 Americans.”
It also reports that as many as 25 cases of infected persons may not show symptoms. This makes new infections more likely.
