3rd April Updated Covid-19 figures: Nationwide, Lagos, Worldwide

Coronavirus Pandemic News - Women's Perspective

3rd April updated COVID-19 figures as of 10:30om have been announced.

Nationwide Highlights: 
  1. Confirmed cases: 210
  2. New cases: 20
  3. Deaths: 4
  4. Total recovered: 23 
  5. Total recovered today were all in Lagos (3 female, 1 male)
Breakdown of New cases by states: 
  1. Lagos: 11
  2. FCT: 3
  3. Edo: 2
  4. Osun: 2
  5. Ondo: 1

Meanwhile, the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Muhammed has cautioned that patients who die of covid-19 will not be buried by their families for health reasons.

Speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria 3rd April, he said, “Nigerians should not forget that this is not the the of corpses that can be claimed for burial because it must be handled by the Ministry of Health.

“It is not a joke: stay at home and stay safe, obey simple instructions of basic hygiene and social distancing, in few weeks, we will resume our normal life”

In another development, the Lagos State Governor has also given his daily briefing on the situation in the state.

Dear Lagosians,

it is with utmost pleasure that I inform you of the discharge of an additional 4 patients from the Infectious Diseases Hospital (IDH). They comprise 3 Females and 1 Male.
Bringing the total recovered patients to 23.

They were released having recovered fully and testing negative to the COVID-19 virus twice consecutively.

We are indeed happy to see them reunite with their loved ones.
I would also implore everyone to stay home, stay safe and not take this virus for granted.

Keeping strictly to the instructions on prevention is also very important.

The Governor has also undertaken the coronavirus test alongside members of his family. According to the state Commissioner for Health, Prof Akin Abayomi, all the tests came out negative.
