A former lawmaker in the House of Representatives, Hon Shaeed Akinade-Fijabi has warned political players that if Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is denied the Presidential ticket in 2023 by the All Progressives Congress (APC), a 3rd Mega Party would emerge in Nigeria.
The lawmaker represented Ibadan Northwest/Southwest under the APC at the 7th and 8th Assembly.
Speaking on a radio program on Saturday in Ibadan, Akinade-Fijabi said that the new party would give the APC and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) a run for their money.
He said this while reacting to chances of Tinubu not emerging as Nigeria’s next president.
According to him, “Our people are unpredictable, there might emergence of a 3rd mega party to counter the two existing ones (APC and PDP) if Asiwaju Tinubu is denied presidential ticket by APC in 2023.”
Fijabi added that reconciliation is currently ongoing within the Oyo State APC. The moves are meant to unify aggrieved members and position the party to come back better during the 2023 elections in Oyo State.
