The Lagos State Government has announced an end to the 4th wave of Covid-19 in the state.
The Commissioner for Health, Prof Akin Abayomi stated that a consistent decrease in number of new positive cases is a clear indication of the end of the 4th wave in the South West State.
He disclosed that a reduction in the new positive cases of the dreaded Covid-19 infection from 29.3% recorded on the 21st of December, 2021 to 1.9% recorded on the 20th of January, 2022.
The Health Commissioner added that the bed capacity utilisation in the state is currently at only 2% and the fatality rate reduced to 0.71%.
Nevertheless, he appealed to Lagosians to get vaccinated and continue to adhere to non-pharmaceutical interventions to further curb the spread of the disease.
