Former lawmaker representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Shehu Sani has listed 5 terrorist groups operating and competing in Nigeria.
He lamented the growing insecurity in many parts of Nigeria and its impact on innocent citizens.
Sani regretted that Nigeria has now become a killing field where terrorist groups are competing with one another for supremacy.
In a Twitter post on Monday, the governorship candidate for Kaduna State listed the 5 terrorist groups competing in Nigeria as ISWAP, Ansaru, Darussalam, Boko Haram and Bandits.
According to Senator Shehu Sani @ShehuSani “We have reached a point where five terror groups: Iswap, Ansaru, Darusalam, Boko Haram and Bandits are freely competing with each other for space and for the blood of the innocent.“
His revelation comes as Nigerians mourn the tragic killing of worshippers on Sunday at the St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State.
Unknown gunmen on Sunday attacked the Catholic Church and killed many worshippers just as the service was coming to an end.
Reports say that the gunmen detonated explosives before firing at the worshippers including women and children.
In his reaction, President Muhammadu Buhari stated that only demons from hell could have thought of carrying out such attacks and promised that the perpetrators would be caught and and made to face justice.
