The President of Cameroon, Paul Biya who is attending a US/Africa leaders summit is obviously battling bouts of memory loss.

He was seen at the international conference being propped onto his chair by an aide. Oblivious of his surroundings and the reason for his attendance at the international conference, he could not address delegates.

This happened after at least 3 prompts by his personal aide. The confused Paul Biya flipped through his prepared speech, farting intermittently without speaking to the audeience.

On Wednesday he made made major changes to the country’s ministry of defence.

The decision of Biya is coming as coups continue to spread on the African continent.

Some Presidents are taking proactive steps by reshuffling defence portfolios.

Among the posts reshuffled were the delegate to the presidency in charge of defence, air force staff, navy, and the police.

Biya came to power in a coup d’etat in 1982. His early years in power were marred by reports of oppression and human rights violations.

Although he subsequently allowed multiparty elections in the country, the 90-year-old has remained president since he rode to power.

He is also said to spend most of his time in Switzerland.
