The other seven victims were released, remaining Daniel, because, according to sources, his family could not pay the ransom.

Citizen Matthew Koffi Okono of ‘Open Forum’ who has been pushing for the release of Daniel disclosed this on different WhatsApp platforms on Friday night.

While thanking the public for their prayers during Daniel’s days in captivity, he said it was God that made his release possible. He however, did not say if any ransom was actually paid.

Okono revealed that Daniel is currently receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital.

He wrote, ‘FINALLY, SOLOMON BASSEY DANIEL IS FREE’’

‘‘God did what only He can do.

“He’s currently receiving medical attention.

“Thank you all for the prayers.

“To God be the glory.’’
