Lagos State 26th April of COVID-19 update:
26th April Covid-19 Report, Nationwide, Lagos, Worldwide
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu

The governor has commenced the strict implementation of face masks for all Lagosians.

In a statement tagged ‘Mask up Lagos,’ Babajide Sanwo-Olu said:

“The covid-19 pandemic not only brought ill-health into our dear country, it also reaffirmed the need for a total overhaul of how we live, interact, transact business and socialise.

This therefore informed our decision in making the use of facemarks compulsory for everyone, because they help in ensuring that our secretions from coughs and sneezes do not drop on people around us, but rather absorbed by our facemasks.

3 million cotton facemarks are currently being produced to be distributed to residents across the state.

In as much as we would want to make use of the medical ones, let’s try to refrain from using them, so that they will be readily available to our frontline health workers who need them the most.
