Analysis of figures across states as at 16th May, 2020:

Niger State:

Niger State Commissioner for Health, Mohammed Makusidi reports that out of the 8 new cases confirmed on Saturday, 1 died. 

Makusidi added that deceased was suffering from diabetes prior to contracting covid19. He was aged 40 years and a taxi driver. 

However, 7 of the 8 confirmed cases today are Almajirai returnees from Zaria.

 

Lagos State #COVID19; update, 16th May, 2020:

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu announced the successful delivery of a baby boy by a covid19 mother. The mother was delivered of the baby through caesarean section.

According to the governor, “both mother and baby are doing well.”

He also reports that 67 patients were discharged today after 2 negative test results each. 

Among those who were discharged are 22 females and 35 males. of the 67 discharged patients, 2 Indians and 1 Chinese.

Total number of cases successfully managed in Lagos State since the index case in February is now 608.
