Lawyer in the day and a Nurse at night, Elizabeth Owusua

Elizabeth Owusua is a Lawyer by Day and Nurse at Night

A Ghanaian Lady, Elizabeth Owusua has realised her childhood dream of becoming a Lawyer and a Nurse at the same time. She juggled practising as a lawyer in the day and then a nurse at night.

In addition to both professions, Elizabeth also dreamt of becoming a fashion designer. For her, as a growing kid, it was all a fantasy considering her humble family background. Nevertheless, she stayed focused on her dreams and worked towards achieving them.

She added that her training at Mfantisman Girls school helped her achieve her ambitions.

According to her, “I went to the Nursing and midwifery Training College at Korle Bu where I graduated with a Diploma in Nursing in 2008 and started working as a nurse in 2010 after national service.”

Elizabeth said she went further to the Central University to upgrade her nursing profession to Bsc Nursing. In the course of the programme, she personally funded her fees as she was working as a nurse at the same time until she graduated in 2013.

Miss Owusua added that immediately after graduation, she registered and got admitted to read Law at the Ghana Institue of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) Law Faculty.

While studying, she still worked night shifts as a nurse in the school’s hospital. On graduation, she gained admission to the Law School in 2017 and was called to Bar in October 2019.

She has since commenced her legal practice as a Lawyer in the day and continues as a nurse at night.
