Aisha Buhari's Message to Nigerian Children

The wife of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mrs Aisha Buhari has sent a message to the Nigerian children on the occasion of the Children’s Day celebration.

The First Lady congratulated the kids on the occasion of the 2020 International Children’s Day. In her message, she drew   their attention to the fact that she is aware that it is an unusual celebration. This is in view of the fact that they are compelled to mark the day indoors due to the covid19 pandemic.

The theme for this year being Promoting the Girl-Child Education for Sustainable Development, she charged everyone to ensure that the girl-child education is sustained.

Aisha Buhari’s message to the children was also an occasion to admonish them to take their online studies seriously as the country prays for the re-opening of schools.

“I congratulate Nigerian children on the occasion of the 2020 International Children’s Day. This year’s even is special because it is the first time to be celebrated indoors due to the #COVID19 pandemic.

“The theme for this year is Promoting the Girl-Child Education for Sustainable Development. I tells us that despite the present challenge, we cannot rest on our oars, we must ensure that the girl-child education is sustained in terms of quality and scale.

“To our children, please enjoy your day while observing the protocol of covid19. 

“As we pray for the reopening of schools soon, make use of the stay at home by taking your online studies seriously.
