One of Lagos State most prominent Senators, Adebayo Sikiru Osinowo is dead. Also Known as “Pepper,” Osinowo died at the age of 65 after a brief illness.
Reports say his death was caused by complications arising from #COVID19.
He was in his first tenure as senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District under the All Progressives Congress party. His political campaigns were marked with massive crowds of supporters thronging the Ojota, Anthony, Alapere and Ilupeju axis in long chains of cars with his pictures on them.
The entire Lagos political circles have been thrown into morning since the news of his Monday, 15th June morning demise filtered out.
Reports say he died at the First Cardiologist Hospital Lagos, the same hospital where Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari was treated before he died of covid19.
Senator Bayo Osinowo attended St Augustine Primary School, Ijebu-Ode and Isoyin Grammar School.
His career also spanned:
- Federal Ministry of Works as Land officer, 1977 – 1979
- Managing Director, NITAL International, 1986 – 2003
- Managing Director, NIMCO International Co Ltd, 1990 – 2003
Osinowo forayed into politics under the tutelage of late MKO Abiola where he served as Youth Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
Prior to contesting for the Lagos East Senatorial District, Senator Osinowo represented his constituency 4 times at the Lagos State House of Assembly.
He is survived by wife, Mariam Ayodele Osinowo and 3 children.
