Speaking at the occasion, he said that, “we really appreciate this kind gesture, as it will further boost our efforts in tackling the spread of the virus.

“Our Infectious Disease hospital is seeing a lot of brand new things coming up and we have committed that this hospital, post Covid19 would see a purpose built international infectious disease research centre. The designs are out already, and it will also include purpose built isolation wards.

Sanwo-Olu added that “we will ramp us our infrastructure and capacity and not wait for a pandemic to come on us again. We will also be building doctors quarters in this facility as part of our global plan for the Yaba Infectious Disease Hospital.”

The governor cautioned that “covid19 is real and we owe it a duty to tell you to remain cautious. It is only when we take precautionary measures that this virus can be defeated.”

He enjoined all Lagosians to adhere strictly to safety protocols so that the virus can be defeated. Sanwo-Olu reminded everyone that wearing of face masks is not an option the same that frequent washing of hands and social distancing have come to be a part of daily life.
