Coronavirus Pandemic

Nigeria’s covid19 confirmed cases have crossed 25,000 as at 29th June. The country now has 25,133 cases with the addition of 566 new cases across 20 states.

As always, Lagos continues to lead states hardest hit by the pandemic. It is closely followed by Oyo and Delta States.

5th phase of ease of lockdown in Nigeria:

The federal government of Nigeria has approved the re-opening of schools.

However, not all learners are expected to resume. Only those in the final year classes of primary 6, JSS 3, SSS 3 are advised  to return to be able to round off the school calendar and take the relevant final exams.

However, all other classes as well as all tertiary institutions are to remain closed until further notice.

The announcement was made on 29th June, on behalf of President Muhammad Buhari by the Presidential Task Force on covid19 headed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha.

Resumption of flights:

The ban on domestic flights has also been lifted with effect from July 1. This is so long as the flights are made outside of the curfew hours of 10:00pm to 4:00am.

Interstate travels:

Interstate travel ban has equally been lifted with the strict compliance of a few health guidelines. The vehicles can only carry 60% of passengers who in turn must be masked up throughout the journey.
