21st July Covid19 Report: Nationwide, Worldwide

Nigeria’s covid19 figures currently stand at a total of 37,801 with an additional 576 new cases reported on the 21st July, 2020.

The new cases were reported from 22 states.

Kwara State moved to second position with 87 confirmed new cases on the 21st of July alone.

15,677 covid19 patients have been successfully managed and discharged.  805 fatal infections are reported so far while 21,319 patients are still ill.

  6. Enugu: 28
  7. Oyo: 26
  8. Taraba: 24
  9. Kaduna: 20

  14. Rivers: 11
  15. Ogun: 10
  16. Delta: 9
  17. Nasarawa: 8
  18. Osun: 8
  19. Katsina: 3
  20. Imo: 2
  21. Kebbi: 1
  22. Borno: 1

 

Highlights of total cases of covid19 as at 21st July:
  1. Samples tested: 218,223
  2. Confirmed cases: 37,801
  3. Active cases: 21,319
  4. Recovered and discharged: 15,677
  5. Deaths: 805

 

Deaths that occurred due to covid19 on 21st July, 2020:

4 deaths were recorded from 3 states. They include –

  1. Ebonyi: 2
  2. Lagos: 1
  3. Ogun: 1

International Flights May Resume Earlier than Anticipated:

Hadi Sirika, Nigeria’s Aviation Minister has announced that international flights may resume earlier than anticipated.

According to him, the Nigeria Airspace Management Authority issued a notice to airmen to that effect. Sirika gave the update yesterday on his twitter handle while denying that international flights were billed for resumption in October.

According to him, the flights will resume despite the ban issued to Nigeria by Europe and the United Arab Emirates. He said the new and substantive date will be announced after consultations with relevant authorise like the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Health as well as the Presidential Task Force on Covid19.

 

Worldwide covid19 figures as at 7:40, 22nd July, 2020:

Covid19 infections have crossed the 15 million mark as at 7:35 am, 22nd July:

  1. Total infections: 15,099,660
  2. Deaths: 619,609
  3. Recovered and discharged: 9,116,460
  4. Currently active: 5,363,591
  5. Closed cases (cases which had an outcome): 9,736,069
    • Recovered and discharged: 9,116,460 (94%)
    • Deaths: 619,609 (6%)
