27th July Covid19 Report: Nationwide, Worldwide

Nigeria’s covid19 report increased with an additional 648 confirmed new cases posted by 20 states on the 27th July.

In all, there are currently a total of 41,180 confirmed cases with 18,203 successfully managed and discharged. Sadly, 860 deaths have occurred since the outbreak of the pandemic in Nigeria.

Total number of samples tested are now 266,323 with Lagos leading in total tests and incidences.

Plateau has witnessed its own spike of the pandemic moving from the regular lower position to number 2 in the overall ranking of new confirmed cases.

World covid19 report as at 27th July:

On Monday, 27th July, the US National Institutes of Health in collaboration with the Moderna Inc launched the world’s biggest covid19 vaccine study with about 30,000 volunteers.

The volunteers will be helping to test the vaccines developed by both bodies. The US doubled its investments to the study in order to expedite the process.

KFOX14 News says that the volunteers will be tested twice, 28 days apart after their blood samples have been taken.

In the course of the 28 days, they will be given 2 injections but will not be told which of the injections is Moderna and which is a dummy.
