Uganda, Wednesday, 13th August made history as a 19-year-old picked nomination papers for the presidency in the upcoming presidential elections.
According to Hillary Humphrey Kaweesa, he has always been a leader. He therefore considers himself qualified to lead Uganda.
He plans to fund-raise his nomination fees of 20 million Ugandan shillings being USD5,400 or GBP4,100.
Kaweesa is also expected to obtain 100 signatures from every district for his nomination, Uganda has more than 100 districts.
The teenage candidate is in senior 6 vacation and an ex-student of Mengo Senior Secondary School. He says he attained 3 principal passes in the 2019 Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) examinations making him eligible to contest for the presidency.

The 19-year-old will be contesting against Robert Kyagulanyi better known as Bobi Wine and former army general Henry Tumukunde.
All 3 major candidates will be running against the incumbent President Yoweri Museveni.
Ugandan constitution allows any Ugandan above the age of 18 to vie for the country’s top political position.
Another interesting aspirant is Matthew Mutyaba. Mutyaba is physically disabled and a lawyer by profession. He says he is confident of winning the presidency because he has been spiritually called to lead.
