Another helicopter crash has killed two people and critically injured one in the Opebi area of Lagos Friday morning.

Reports say the Bird 206 helicopter belonging to Quorum Aviation arrived from Port Harcourt with two crew members and one passenger. It crash into a compound at 16A Salvation Road in Opebi, Lagos.

Gbenga Akosile, Chief Press Secretary to the Lagos State Governor, the corpses of the dead have been evacuated to the mortuary while the injured passenger has been taken to the hospital.

“Flash: There’s been a helicopter crash in a private house at Opebi area of Lagos. Two people confirmed dead, 1 person badly wounded and has been taken to the hospital. The dead bodies have been deposited at the mortuary. The Lagos State Emergency services are on ground.”
On its part, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), in several tweets said:

“LASEMA Response Team at Opebi Helicopter Crash, rescue ongoing The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA has activated its resources to the crash site at 16A Salvation Opebi Road, today, Friday, 28th August, 2020.
“Updates on the Helicopter crash at No 16A Salvation Road Opebi, Lagos. On the arrival of the Agency’s combined Response Team, led by its DG/CEO, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu at the scene, it was observed that there was an helicopter crash. Further investigation gathered revealed that a Bell Helicopter 206B3 belonging to Quorum Aviation Ltd crashed at 12 pm.
“However, an adult male was rescued and taken to LASUTH for further treatment. While two adult male were confirmed dead.
“The DG/CEO LASEMA alongside it’s Response Team, RRS, LASAMBUS, LASG Fire Service, Commisioner of Police, FAAN, FRSC and LASTMA are all on ground. Recovery operation ongoing. #call112/767emergencytollfreeline.”
