A 12-year old girl has been raped by an evangelist in Anambra State.
38-year old Ndubuisi Chukwudi was last week, apprehended by the police for raping the girl who is a neighbour’s daughter in Ekpunegbu village, Nnewi Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Police spokesman, Haruna Muhammed confirmed that the suspect who parades himself as an evangelist lured the little girl into his room and had canal knowledge of her.
Muhammed added that the suspect has owned up to the crime. According to him, “on the 28/8/2020, Police operatives attached to Nnewi Division arrested one Chukwudi Ndubuisi, male, aged 38 years of Ekpunegbu village in Nnewi LGA of Anambra State.
“Suspect who claimed to be an evangelist allegedly lured his neighbour’s daughter, a 12-year old girl and had unlawful carnal knowledge with her.
“Police detectives took the victim to the hospital for medical examination where penetration and laceration of her hymen were confirmed by the medical doctor.
“Meanwhile, the suspect has voluntarily confessed to the crime and the case transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation as directed by the Commissioner of Police, John Abang.
“The suspect would be charged to court for prosecution as soon as investigation is concluded.”
