Youths not Backing Down with EndSARS Despite Government Bowing to Pressure

Nigerian youth are not backing down as EndSARS protests continue into day 5.

This is despite the Inspector General of Police (IGP) announcing the disbandment of the security agency.

As early as 4:00am, Nigerian youths in the Lekki and Ajah axis converged on the Ajah bridge, Lekki Conservation Centre and Admiralty Circle Toll Gates.

Other locations across the country as well time for the rallies were equally announced across social media groups.

Some policemen on duty were turned back by the youth who seem to be changing the motive for the protests. One complained that we do not have a president.

At the Lekki Admiralty Toll Plaza, the youth call for reinforcement from their colleagues:

“That Lekki toll gate needs numbers, if you’re in that Axis please join them, and if you’re in traffic there just come down , roll your sleeves, collect placards and Aluta that shii. #SARSMUSTEND

According to some youths, this is not the first time the government has vowed to end SARS.

They say that the moment Nigerian citizens look the other way, SARS seeks back in more daring and brutal.

Last night, commuters were caught up on the Lekki to Ajah under bridge for hours.

Yours truly who was visiting a relative, left Lekki Phase 1 at 8:00pm arrived home at Ajah by 2:30am this morning.

It would also appear that the government has begun clamping down on its officials who support the EndSARS movement.

Kano State Governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr Salihu Tanko Yakasai (@dawisu) was yesterday, sacked for speaking his mind about the government and supporting the protesting youth.

His comments:

EndSARS Protests into Day 5 Despite Government Bowing to Pressure

Nigerian youths have come out in solidarity for @Dawisu whose only offence was speaking his mind in spite of his support and loyalty to his boss, the Governor.

“Muhammad M Abba@_M_Abba
·I have no doubt that Ganduje will regret his illogical decision ofsackingDawisu. Dawisu has been with him, mustering his all energy in defending him, instead of Ganduje to be grateful to him, but alas, he suspended him over castigating Buhari’s failure government.”
