#Endsars World

The United States Democratic Presidential candidate, Joe Biden has asked President Muhammadu Buhari and the Nigerian Military to stop attacking protesters.

He regretted that the attacks have led to several deaths and vowed that the U S will stand with Nigerians who are peacefully demonstrating for police reforms and an end to corruption.

Biden said in the statement:

“I urge President Buhari and the Nigerian military to cease the violent crackdown on Protesters in Nigeria which has already resulted in several deaths.

“My heart goes out to all those who have lost loved ones in the violence.

“The United States must stand with Nigerians who are peacefully demonstrating for police reforms and seeking an end to corruption in their democracy.

“I encourage the government to engage in a good-faith dialogue with civil society to address these long-standing grievances and work together for a more just and inclusive Nigeria.

Nigerian youths have been protesting both in-person and via social media in the most coordinated manner in nearly 2 weeks.

Several unarmed youths gathered at the Lekki Toll Gate were yesterday killed or badly injured by soldiers who opened fire on them.

There has been unabated arson and looting across many cities in the country.
