Sanwo-Olu Orders Civil Servants Back to In-Person Office Work

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has ordered civil servants to return back to in-person office work with effect from Monday.

Workers on salary grade levels 1 – 12 who were directed to work from home since March 2020 are expected to resume fully from November 2 2020.

The initial instruction to work from home was as a result of the #COVID19 pandemic ravaging the world.

The resumption directive was given in a circular issued by the Head of Service, Muri Okunola citing the State’s decision to further ease the covid19 lockdown.

The memo is captioned:

“Re-further easing of covid19 Lockdown with Ref. No. CIR/HOS/’20/Vol.1/115, issued by the Office of Head of Service and dated 30th October, 2020.”

The circular is signed by the Head of Service, HoS Mr Muri Okunola with copies to Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of the Lagos State government.

It states that the state government’s decision followed the informed recommendation of the Presidential Task Force on Covid19 in conjunction with the State Ministry of Health.

“Sequel to the informed recommendation of the Presidential Task Force on covid19 and the State Ministry of Health advisory on same, it is hereby notified for general information that Mr Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has approved that all public servants on salary grade levels 1 – 12, who were directed to work from home since March 2020 resume at the office with effect from Monday 2, 2020.

The circular directed relevant heads of Ministries to ensure work places comply with the covid19 protocols:

“All heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies are to note the contents of this circular for compliance and give it the service-wide publicity it deserves.”

The dusk to dawn curfew imposed by the state government has also been lifted.
