WAEC Releases 2020 WASSCE Results

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the results of the 2020 WASSCE results.

The announcement as made today in the official Twitter handle of WAEC by the Head of the National Office., Patrick Areghan.

According to him, “a total of 1,549,740 candidates registered while 1,538,445 actually sat for the examinations.

“780,660 were male while 757,785 being 49.26% were female.

“The examination was also administered to candidates from Benin Republic, Ivory Coast and Equatorial Guneaa where the Nigeria curriculum for senior secondary school is is being used.”

The Head of National Office said that a total of 1,338,348 obtained credit and above in a minimum of 5 subjects with or without English Language, with or without mathematics.

There are also ongoing investigations into cases of exam malpractices by the relevant committees.

According to Areghan, “The results of 215,149 candidates, representing 13,98% of the total number of candidates that sat the examination, are being withheld in connection with various reported cases of examination malpractice.

“The cases are being investigated and reports of the investigations will be presented to the appropriate Committee of the Council for determination in due course.”
