A group of people living with disability from the Niger Delta today, stormed the National Assembly in protest.
They insist they have been neglected by the Federal Lawmakers after using them to win elections.
The protesters under the aegis of Great Minds Foundation of People Living with Deformities Niger Delta broke the barriers leading to the Assembly entrance.
Some of them physically tackled one of the security men who tried to stop them, slightly injuring him.
The Senate Deputy Whip, Aliyu Sani led some lawmakers to listen to the grievances of the protesters.
He appealed for calm and promised to pass their message to the relevant authorities.
In the meantime, he advised to appoint a 5-man team of representatives to meet with the leaders of the National Assembly.
