Former Lagos State Governorship Aspirant Dies of Covid19

A former Lagos State Governorship Aspirant, Kitoye Branco-Rhodes has reportedly died of complications from Covid19.

Reports also say he died on Friday night at the age of 57.

Kitoye was the son of late business man and lawyer, Olayinka Rhodes and an equally astute businesswoman, Abimbola Rhodes.

He is survived by wife, Laolu Branco-Rhodes (daughter of Late Tunji Braithwaite) and six children.

Kitoye Branco Rhodes contested the 2003 governorship election in Lagos State under the Nigerian Advance Party (NAP) led by his father-in-law, Tunji Braithwaite.

He lost the election to Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the then Alliance for Democracy (AD)

The governorship aspirant later joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), contested in the primaries but lost the ticket to Jimi Agbaje.

Agbaje on his part, lost the governorship election to Akinwunmi Ambode of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
