Omisore's Defection Not a Threat to APC - Senator

Senator Adelere Oriolowo representing Osun West Senatorial District has debunked speculations that the defection of Senator Iyiola Omisore into the All Progressives Congress (APC) will disrupt the party’s unity.

Describing the speculations as unfounded, Oriolowo told correspondents during an interview in Abuja on Thursday that Omisore’s defection to the ruling party was a welcome development.

According to him, “Rather than being anxious, party leaders and members in the state should see Omisore’s defection as a welcome idea and team up with such a fantastic politician to achieve the goals and objectives of the party.

His defection cannot threaten the unity of the party in the state.”

The former Governor of Ogun State, Gbenga Daniel defected to the APC in the middle of February, 2021

While Omisore left the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Gbenga Daniel left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) where he was a significant member.

Gbenga Daniel was the campaign chairman for the Abubakar Atiku and Peter Obi Presidential/Vice Presidential race under the the PDP in the 2019 presidential election.
