There is confusion in Benue State as armed men suspected to be herdsmen staged an attack on the convoy of the Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom.
A state government official said the incident occurred at Ayo Mu along Makurdi-Gboko Road.
Other reports say that the Governor was on his way to Makurdi, the Benue State capital when the suspected herdsmen opened fire on his convoy.
They were however, repelled by his security detail thereby preventing what would have been a major catastrophe.
