Popular Nollywood actor, Olanrewaju James, popularly known as Baba Ijesha has been arrested for serially defiling a 14-year-old girl since she was 7 years old.
Spokesperson for the the Lagos State Police Command, Muyiwa Adejobi, in a statement released on Thursday said the case of defilement was filed on the 19th of April, 2021 by one Princess Ademola Adekanya at the Sabo Police Station.

The case has been transferred to the gender unit of the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Panti, Yaba, Lagos for investigation.
The Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor of Lagos State on New Media, Jubril A. Gawat@Mr_JAGs· also confirmed the development.
According to Gawat, “Lagos State Police Command has arrested one Olarenwaju James ‘m’ 48, aka BabaIjesha, popular Nollywood actor for allegedly defiling a minor .. confessed to the crime and was also captured by a CCTV camera in the house of the complainant.
“The case of defilement was reported on 19th April, 2021 by one Princess Adekola Adekanya ‘f’ at Sabo Police Station and transferred to the Gender Unit of the State CID, Panti, Yaba Lagos for proper investigation.
“Based on preliminary findings, the suspect started sexually assaulting the victim, 14 years, since she was 7 year old. The suspect confessed to the crime and was also captured by a CCTV camera in the house of the complainant”
