The Governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano, today, inaugurated the Anambra International Airport.
Three test flights by Air Piece landed at the cargo and passenger airport located between the Umuleri and Aguleri communities.
It is hoped that the siting of the #AnambraAirport will bring enduring peace between the two communities that have seen communal conflicts for decades.
The new airport would also serve the heavy traffic to Eastern Nigerian and ease traffic at the Asaba International Airport, Delta State.
Asaba experiences a massive influx of travellers to Delta and the entire South Eastern parts of the country, especially during festive seasons.
Elated Willie Obiano wasted no time in announcing the cheering news while Air Peace is equally elated to have been chosen for the inaugural flights.
Reverend Father Mbaka visited the airport grounds earlier in the month for an assessment tour of progress.
Together with his congregation, prayers were said for the airport which holds a lot of promise.
