Medical Students Heartbroken as University of Ayo Losses Accreditation for Medicine

Medicine and surgery students of the University of Uyo (Uniuyo) are said to be heartbroken after the school lost accreditation for the courses

For some of the students, they have been in school for 8 years for a course that should ideally last 6 years.

Unfortunately, the University was denied accreditation by the National Universities Commission.

Medical Students Heartbroken as University of Ayo Losses Accreditation for Medicine

One of the students who spoke on conditions of anonymity said that, “Medical Students will be unable to write professional exams hence cannot graduate.

However, They will not progress from level to level due to not writing professional exams. This is a stagnation for students pending when accreditation is restored.

The lecturers have also not been able to give details of next steps even as the heartbroken student grapple with the uncertainties that the future holds for them.
