Association Of Licensed Telecom Operators Suspend Access To Twitter

Breaking News !

The Association of Licensed Telecommunication Operators of Nigeria (ALTON) has suspended subscribers’ access to Twitter.

This follows a directive received by the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) and Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to block Twitter from Nigeria immediately.

The suspension is contained in a letter dated 5th of June and published on its websites and Facebook.

However, Millennials have continued to use the Twitter app by downloading the VPN while those resident in the country with foreign cell phone numbers have continued unhindered.

· “Buhari has effectively robbed me of my 20s.

“Bulk of my 20s has been spent dealing with/fighting police harassment and brutality, university strike actions by ASUU and NASU, inflation, unemployment and poverty. Didn’t do anything to deserve any of these apart from being born Nigerian in Nigeria.

“These formative years fighting forces greater than me. None of us deserves this.”

· “When you are not born into Nigeria elite, every day is a fight. We fight everything and for everything. It’s exhausting.”

·It will be very shameful for supporters of Buhari regime to download and use VPN. If you find them here call them out. Since they hate Twitter, they should start by deactivating their accounts. It’ll be foolhardy for them to support Buhari’s despotic action and still use Twitter.
