A 65-year-old man is said to have raped his stepmother in Ekiti State.
Spokesperson for the State Police Command, Sunday Abutu confirmed the arrest of the suspect in a statement released on Thursday, June 17.
Abutu reports that Durodola Ogundele was arrested on Wednesday by the Ido-Osi Division Headquarters of the Nigerian Police Force for allegedly raping the 85-year-old stepmother twice.
Ogundele, son to the the victim’s late husband, is said to have first had canal knowledge of the old lady in her room on the 15th of June.
The police narrates that the suspect entered the victim’s room under the guise of helping her apply some herbal medicine on her legs to ease her pain.
Abutu added that “The victim alleged that after applying the herbal medicine on her legs, the suspect forcefully had sexual intercourse with her twice.”
He added that the Commissioner of Police, Mr Tunde Mobayo has ordered that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for proper investigation after which he will be charged to court.
