Sylvia Ataga, mother of the billionaire CEO of Super TV, Michael Usifo Ataga took to Facebook in the early hours of the 17th of June to celebrate his 50th birthday, oblivious of his death.
She also tagged close friends in her joy at having “the son that makes me happy,” attain the landmark birthday.

When Sylvia, who is an ex-student of the prestigious St Maria Goretti Girls Grammar School, Benin City shared her post, she got at least 36 likes and over 60 comments.
Some of Sylvia’s friends even teased Usifo Ataga, her son on how big he has grown and how successful he turned out:
Bayo Omo-ataga “Yes, the little guys of yesterday are now the big guys of today, even nursing a white (artificial) beard. Happy birthday to you,wish you many more fruitful, fulfilling and blissful years on earth. Hip, hip hurray. Congratulations.”
Unknown to Sylvia, she was celebrating a son who had already been murdered, one whose news would suddenly cause her pain and sorrow.
Usifo’s lifeless body was later on the same day she wished him a happy birthday, found in an Airbnb apartment in Lekki phase 1.
Sylvia’s Facebook friends were cautious in breaking the news to her while social media was awash with news of his death.
She obviously was not aware until 48 hours after his his corpse was discovered following which she sent a most heart breaking response:

Usifo’s wife and family who are based in Abuja reported him missing after he did not turn up at his Super TV office and home in Banana Island since the 13th of June.
The mystery of his disappearance was only cracked on the 17th of June when he was traced by the police to the Airbnb apartment in Lekki Phase 1.
His body was riddled with multiple stab wounds while initial investigations led the security operatives to a lady he met 2 weeks prior.
Multiple withdrawals from Usifo Ataga’s GT Bank account, amounting to over N5 million were alleged to have been traced to the lady’s account.
She has been arrested alongside the manager of the apartment as well as security guards.
The guards told the security agents that a dispatcher who had come to deliver drugs to the lady was the only visitor to the apartment.
Unfortunately too, reports also say that there were no CCTV camera’s in the flat to assist in further investigations.
