The Director of the Scientific Equipment Development Institute (SEDI-E) in Enugu State, Prof Sam Ndubuisi has been killed by unknown gunmen.
Reports just received say that he was assassinated on Wednesday evening, July 7th while on his way to a meeting.
He is alleged to have been killed alongside his his police escort, who is yet to be identified.
The reports say that the assailants, on sighting him, began shooting sporadically at his vehicle until his jeep veered off the road to a stop. The assailants then ordered him to lie down on the floor where they rained bullets continuously on his face.
Reports say the late Director of SEDI was also the former dean of the Faculty of Engineering in Enugu State University of Technology (ESUT).
The assassination comes barely one week after Ifeanyi Okeke, the Chief Executive Officer of AutoEase services in Enugu State was killed in like manner in the presence of his 7-year-old son.
