Court Remands Usifo Ataga’s Suspected Murderer, Chidinma Ojukwu

Chidinma Ojukwu Was in S*xual Relationship with Foster Father

A Magistrate Court sitting in Yaba has remanded Chidinma Ojukwu, the mistress and suspected murderer of Usifo Ataga, the Chief Executive Officer of Super TV, for 30 days.

The Police counsel, Cyril Ejiofor had approached the court to remand both the first defendant, Chidinma Ojukwu and Adedapo Quadri pending the issuance of a Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) report on the case.

Dr Babajide Martins, Director, Office of the Public Defender (OPD) Dr Babajide Martins noted that the prosecution failed to furnish him with the remand application. For that reason, he did not oppose the Police Counsel’s prayer “on principle.”

In response to the application by the police, prosecutions’ prayer, Chief Magistrate Adeola Adedayo remanded Chidinma Ojukwu for 30 days

Adedapo Quadri, Chidinma Ojukwu’s co-defendant was also remanded on the same terms.

Usifo Ataga’s body was found in a shortcut apartment on Adebowale Oshin Street in Lekki Phase 1 where he had checked into with his mistress, Chidinma Ojukwu.

The latter was apprehended in her uncle’s Yaba apartment by the Lagos State Police Command on the 23rd of June and paraded before newsmen at the police headquarters in Ikeja.

She confessed to stabbing her lover with a kitchen knife under the influence of drugs and alcohol, but later recanted that she was murdered when she stepped out of the house.

Chidinma also confessed to stealing Atag’s N380,000 with an ATM she stole from him alongside other valuables.

Usifo Ataga was, on the 30th of July, buried in a private ceremony attended by close family and friends.
